Words to Live (and Learn) By

by Shelly Blake-Plock

Reader Mrs. Stanley left a comment on an earlier post that I wanted to put in front of your eyes as we are all getting started with a new school year. Words to live (and learn) by:
This fall I enter my last year of teaching, and I have one overwhelming goal -- to shut up and listen more to what my students have to say and to continue to be a better teacher by being a better learner with my students as teachers.

  1. Gee, Thanks, Shelly. You are an inspiration to me. I'll get back later and keep you posted on how well I'm working on that goal!

I think we are still starting with students on Tuesday, August 30 - but, to the best of my knowledge, there is no teacher's-only day tomorrow - cancelled because of Irene. To make matters worse, our school website is down, so I can't even check email. If they've lost power, as I suspect, there really is no school.
I'm looking forward to following you more closely this year.
